Monuments and places of interest:
Home of the medlar
Small house close to the church of St. John, dating back to the nineteenth century, inspired by Giovanni Verga for the history of Malavoglia. The home museum houses two rooms, one dedicated to the film The Terrible Land of Luchino Visconti, which filmed the film right inside the house, and the second room dedicated to the fishing activity of the hamlet. Outside the house there is a garden with a medlar.
Church of St. John the Baptist
The main church of the village, was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1693. In 1900 the parish priest don Salvatore De Maria operated it, which restructured it and made it a parish independent of the church of Aci Castello. The facade is in Baroque style with a classic portal. The central window is surmounted by a second upper window with the statue of the saint. At the top of the center there is a small bell tower with a bell. The second turbulent bell tower is lateral. The interior is a single nave, with semicircular apse, beautifully decorated with stuccos surrounding the four side chapels.
